15 Dec The Easiest Throw On And Go Party Look You Will Love
THROW ON ONE OF THESE SNAZZY SHIRTS FOR LOW KEY GLAMOUR WITH PLENTY OF ROOM FOR LOUNGING
You know when you want to be festive and fun but you also really want to be comfy. I mean isn’t that basically the whole vibe of Christmas? All-out glamour and all-out comfort can be enjoyed at the same time, thanks to a crop of easy-to-throw-on shirts in shiny & sheer fabrications, sumptuous velvet, or with tactile feather trims. The colourful poplin shirts that topped off many a favourite summer outfit, can now be replaced with silky jewel tones or shimmering metallics that turn any outfit into a pulled together party look in moments. These 25 button-down beauties are going to be equally as perfect for dinner, drinks, or lounging on the sofa after your second Christmas dinner or third glass of Prosecco. Easy peasy.
SHIMMER AND SHINE
Go for some traditional festive sparkle, but don’t worry shimmer and shine is not just for Christmas and is showing no sign of disappearing on us just yet.
I want to wear this right now. You can mix and match the look too, just think of all the possibilities. It also comes in pink, but I prefer the black, obviously.
Get some space age vibes going on with this metallic, silvery number from H&M. There is a shirt, top and skirt option in this futuristic shine, but the shirt is so wearable and versatile.
Zara is giving us full on sequins. You will definitely be pulling this out the wardrobe for many Christmas and new Years to come. The whole look with the flared trousers is a winner if you want to go big.
After a more subtle take on shine? This recycled polyester shirt has a subtle shimmer to the sheer fabric that will be easy to wear all year round.
FEATHERS
Add a tactile touch of glamour and a vintage vibe to your look with feathers. Feather trims are gaining momentum as a go to party look and sticking around on the SS22 catwalks too.
The classic Sleeper feathery pyjamas are perfect for an easy vintage glamour vibe that you are not going to want to take off. This Green shade is also gorgeous.
Leopard and feathers, what is not to love? Pair with a mini and heels for full on glamour or keep it low-key with jeans and loafers.
This 16Arlington feather trimmed satin shirt / dress is in the sale and selling out fast, so be quick if you want to snap it up!
You don’t have to choose between feathers and shine. Go for all out glamour in max comfort, with this feather-trimmed stretch lurex shirt from Oseree.
SHEER BEAUTY
Not a fan of sparkle or shine? A sheer organza option in classic black or white can add a touch of 90’s to your look. It also looks beautiful in vibrant colours and will transition nicely into spring.
Make a statement with vibrant red and polka dots.
So pretty. This looks good enough to eat.
This relaxed fit, silk blend shirt is a timeless classic you will throw on forever.
This beautifully simple organza blouse also comes in black, but I love this subtle deep purple.
Get the true 90’s look with a vintage option and get some Cher Horowitz vibes going.
What could be more romantic than a white option with puff sleeves? This is going to lighten up your winter looks and transition nicely into spring too.
Another option that is going to be just as perfect for Spring as it is now. This hot pink organza has a touch of the Y2k feel to it too.

VELVET
Velvet has more of a wearability window, but you are never not going to reach for this cosy option come winter. It is a winter classic that never really goes out of style and for this reason, charity shops are always a treasure trove in the lead up to Christmas. I seem to have built a small velvet collection over the years, but if you haven’t here are a few nice options to start you off.
Whilst we are at it, a head-to-toe velvet look seems the ultimate in comfort and glamour. This silvery grey option is almost sold out, but check out the black for an even more classic look.
How beautiful is this crinkled midnight blue? Its selling fast, so if this is your bag, don’t hesitate for too long! It would be hard to say no to the dreamy matching trousers too. I have a midnight blue crinkled dress from Zara that has been making its way out of my wardrobe every winter for many years and I still love it.
This leopard version with pearl buttons, ruffled sleeves and peter pan collar is so pretty. It will look amazing with a black mini skirt or dressing up dark denim.
This devore number has an 80’s vibe to it, that brings the perfect amount of nostalgic Christmas glamour. The Midnight Blue and Black colour combination is gorgeous.
Vintage options always abound in Velvet.

A simple silky blouse can be thrown on any time of year and make an outfit look pulled together in minutes.
This classic dark navy oversized shirt looks so polished and will never date. It is crafted from 100% sustainable fabric too.
