When is denim not big news for spring? Well, this season is no different, and these 2024 Denim Trends are here to get you excited about your denim all over again. Top-to-toe denim looks are still going strong, as is all-encompassing denim, such as the big and baggy looks at Loewe worn with sparkling ballet flats peeping from beneath slouchy denim hems. Classic dark denim and the 90s straight leg (think vintage Kate Moss denim looks) are also making a comeback this season, whilst grey provides a nice transitional alternative to lighter blues.

Then there’s the shorts… oh so many shorts. Whether teeny tiny with an equally body-conscious hourglass jacket at Alexander Mcqueen or long and loose with a boxy blazer at Valentino, you are going to be digging out your old denim shorts this spring for sure. Grey has been trending hard for a while now, which might explain the grey denim explosion. But really, grey denim is the perfect transitional solution, not too light, not too dark, and pairs fabulously with spring’s hottest colour trends…

2024 Denim Trend – 90s Straight Leg

In amongst all the talk of the return of the skinny jeans and the current reign of the baggy jeans, let’s hear it for the good old straight leg which, though it never went away, made an appearance at many 2024 shows and is poised to pair perfectly with all your classic spring to autumn looks this year.

2024 Denim Trend – Ecru Denim

Spring/summer is the prime time to go for some Ecru denim. Whilst white can be a little scary, ecru looks elevated and is so much easier to wear.

If you prefer your denim with a little polish and precision this trend is for you. At Gucci and Toteme pleating, darts, creases, and pintucks added major polish to jeans and the high street is following suit with some equally elevated pairs at & Other Stories, COS, and Arket.

2024 Denim Trend – Belt It

Yup, belts are back. Whilst there may be many denim silhouettes circling, one theme in common is the presence of a belt in the belt loops of said jeans. Tao into the studded trend, make it a statement with a wide belt or something sleek and minimal.
