14 Nov The AW22 Party Wear Trends to Know for the 2022 Festive Season
It is nearly half way through November, which means the festive season is fast approaching. Which means, we need to start planning our party outfits stat. It is really never too early, especially considering the festive finery is already flying into the new arrivals sections and back out again. If there is anything we have learnt in recent times, it is that there is no messing around to be done when it comes to turning out your best looks. Wear the fun stuff at every opportunity. And if there is ever a time to max out on the glamour and shimmy away in a little sparkle, it’s the festive season. With that in mind, we have had a good old gander at the party outfit ready trends that are kicking off for AW22 already. If there is one thing that can be said for this season, it’s that there is no shortage of variety. Here are 14, yes 14, party ready trends you need to see.
Rhinestone Details
Rhinestones have made their way onto everything this season, from accessories to knitwear, right down to our underwear getting the magpie treatment. Everything. Even the sparkle averse among us will be wanting in on the action.
I would be this happy too, wearing this fabulously fringed rhinestone top.
Suddenly I feel the need to complete all my going out outfits with a crystal studded beret this season. If this Saint Laurent number is a little beyond your budget, Mango has got you covered with their rhinestone beret in black or grey.
You need to see the back of this rhinestone embellished knit dress too.
Bandeau Baby
The bandeau neckline is back in a big way this season, whether in the shape of minimalist dresses, clean lined tops or peplum styles that accentuate the waist. If you want to show some shoulder but have an aversion to the cold, then the sleeved off-the-shoulder/bardot option is also well and truly here for you and your arms this winter.
Minimalist bandeau perfection from COS.
This ruched velvet bandeau top looks so good paired with the contrasting texture of the leather trousers. Alternatively try jeans/loose trousers and a leather blazer.
Accentuate your waist with a peplum style bandeau in a subtly shimmering fabric.
Sheer Shine
We all know sequins and rhinestones, but this season they have gone sassy & sheer. 16Arlington, Nensi Dojaka and Self Portrait have you covered on this trend, as well as Zara and Mango on the high street. Look out for sheer skirts which are another big trend this season (see Prada), and can be paired with knitwear and boots for a more day-to-night take on the look.
Sheer, off-the-shoulder and twinkling with rhinestones is a good way to go this party season.
Massimo Dutti had a perfect sheer skirt in this design, which is currently sold out but we are keeping our eyes peeled. The beaded mesh shirt is also an easy way to get the look.
Don’t leave your feet out. Following the sell out success of their recently restocked crystal embellished pumps, these Mango mesh rhinestone detail ankle boots are also quite something. Just add to jeans.
Velvet Forever
Velvet is a festive forever trend, so you may just have some classic pieces ready to pull out of the wardrobe already. This season the velvet offerings are more exciting than ever, with a rainbow of colours and mixed textures on offer. The charity shops are always a treasure trove of velvet at this time of year too so another great option.
This Arket velvet midi dress has already sold out once and has just been restocked, so be speedy if you want to get your hands on this versatile little number. The black velour leggings have also just been restocked are rather tempting. They look especially fabulous teamed with an oversized blazer.
Layer this velvet mini dress now and you could still wear it in the warmer months.
This easy peasy Monki black velvet shirt also comes in 2 other delicious shades of blue and there are matching trousers available. Be the 90s dream this party season.
Feathered Fun
Feathers have been making their mark for some time now, and this fun and tactile trim is going nowhere. Look to Taller Marmo or 16 Arlington for megawatt evening glamour, or just add a tickle via some fun feathered accessories.
Chic.
I want feathers on my feet. And velvet on my legs.
16Arlington’s feather trim shirt can be worn alone, or with the coordinating trousers for a top to toe look.
Party Pants
From sheer lace, to rhinestone mesh and full-out sequins, trousers are getting the party treatment this season. Pair your party pants with an oversized blazer and heels for a sophisticated party look.
I think this rhinestone trim bra deserves a mention too.
These tiger print sequinned trousers are not messing around, Pair with a pared back black t-shirt like the model, and let the trousers do the talking.
Lace trousers are having a major moment. If these Saint Laurent high-rise flared pants are a bit beyond your budget check out this lace pair from the Camille x Mango collaboration.
Hot Pink Party
At parties we wear pink this season. If shimmer, sheer and sparkle aren’t your thing, there are so many hot pink party-ready options waiting to step in.
Mango’s ruffled maxi dress now comes in hot pink and she is ready to twirl on the dance floor.
Double points for hot pink velvet.
This knit Kitri dress with detachable rhinestone detail and Bardot neckline is such a winner.
Power Pumps
Just add a pair of these pointy power pumps to any outfit for party-ready vibes. Your jeans and a nice top look will be ready to go anywhere.
These H&M rhinestone chain detail pumps look so good for under £30.
So pretty.
If you want twinkle toes but with major vamp vibes, look to these patent leather slingback pumps from Alessandra Rich.
Jumpsuits
Replace your classic LBD with a sleek jumpsuit this season. From second-skin catsuit vibes, to classic tailored looks, there is a jumpsuit for everyone. And no, it doesn’t have to be black, but then it looks so chic…..
Saint Laurent’s shiny finish second-skin jumpsuits have been doing the rounds on social media this season. If you’re not feeling so brave, this ruched and draped jumpsuit with keyhole cutouts is a flattering classic you will revisit year after year.
Those rhinestone fringes are made to move.
The lux leggings look is having a moment. Get the runway look with this Blumarine skinny Jumpsuit. Play with proportions and layer with an oversized blazer.
Floral Details
Add a touch of 00s nostalgia with a floral corsage detail. Showing up adorning everything from necks to party shoes, a floral detail is a way to bring a fresh new spin to party dressing for AW22.
Go bold with a floral necklace.
So gorgeous.
You won’t be able to stop looking at your feet wearing these pretty Blumarine pumps.
All Out Sequins
Sequins never get old and this season they are more all-out than ever, in the form of floor sweeping maxi dresses, coords and bright colours. If you aren’t feeling the head-to-toe look, go for easy to pair separates, or a shimmering accessory.
A shirt dress provides a fresh take on how to wear sequins and honestly this quality street purple is too delicious to resist.
Floor-sweeping maxi dresses are a popular way to do sequins for AW22.
A sequinned mini will always be an easy way to add a pop of sparkle to your party outfit. This pairing with the 00s style fur trimmed cardigan is a winner. Mango has quite the selection of sequins this season, including this newly arrived maxi gown that’s quite the showstopper.
Platforms
Platforms are still big news this season with Mary Janes, ankle strap details and pointed toes making their way onto the scene this season. Velvet fabrications and rhinestone details add a little extra festive fun.
Mary Janes are having a moment and Bottega Veneta’s sky high croc-effect pumps won’t fail to get you noticed.
If you’re looking for razzle dazzle, these shimmering Mary Janes from H&M are so good.
Sumptuous black velvet and a delicate rhinestone encrusted buckle make these Saint Laurent Jodie platform heels hard to resist.
Heavy Metals
This season footwear and accessories got the metallic treatment in a rainbow of colours, including classic gold and silver tones that will pair perfectly with denim and tailoring. High shine lamé is also ready to add some high octane glamour to your party look.
This minimalist shoulder bag in silver is ready to add just the subtlest touch of party to your look.
The “Moss” metallic necktie blouse from Rixo is serving up Kate Moss rock and roll vibes that would be perfectly paired with some no-fuss straight leg denim, and a night to remember.
The gathering on the Norma Kamali Diana one-shoulder dress ensures your lamé is a little more forgiving.
Haute Hosiery
One of the easiest ways to update your party look this party season is with some seriously fun hosiery. Luckily all your favourite designers and high street stores have got you covered on this one, from sheer glittery socks to rhinestone encrusted tights.
Your plain black 40 deniers aren’t looking so good now are they?
Want.
Zara have quite the selection of pimped up tights this season. Don’t just take my word for it.
