11 Feb The Most Fabulous Wedding Guest Outfits for 2022
IT’S TIME TO POLISH OFF YOUR DANCING SHOES AND GET READY FOR WEDDING SEASON
Wedding season is almost upon us and this year it’s hopefully looking a little different to last year (and the year before). With fingers firmly crossed for all the lovers and revellers out there, this could be the year that carefree celebrations commence once more, and parties go ahead at full throttle. All this means it’s time to delve into your wardrobe, dust off your glad rags and get ready to party in some of your old favourites. If your wedding wardrobe is looking a little lack lustre and you’re looking to add a new party piece, then look no further for inspiration. From full on feminine florals to sleek tailoring and abstract prints, we have got you covered. Stay tuned for our accessories addition if you are on the hunt for a little something to pep up an old classic that’s ripe for a rewear.
THE FLORALS
You can’t beat a classic floral for romantic garden party vibes. They are super simple to wear and don’t require much in the way of accessorising, so are equally easy to style. A flirty floral dress can be dressed up or down and reworn for many an occasion, day or night, so also a winner on the cost per wear front.
BLOCKS OF COLOUR
If you’re not about fussy prints but want to make an impact, then a block of bold colour might be for you. Keep your silhouette sleek and simple, or opt for full drama with some statement sleeves, ruffles or volume. Pair with bold accessories in contrasting colours, a touch of animal print, or pared back neutrals for the minimalists out there. See our gallery for plenty of styling inspiration.
BLACK
As a person who has heavily invested in a high proportion of classic black wardrobe staples, I am happy that the question of whether it is deemed appropriate to wear black to a wedding, has been put to rest. Having seen many examples of chic and not at all depressing wedding guest outfits, I am confident that black is a surefire winner. A timeless black number is super versatile, works in all seasons and can be changed up a multitude of times with the addition of fresh accessories and styling. So rewear potential is high and therefore cost per wear is low. Plus it’s chic AF.
PRINTS
If you are not a floral fan, there are a multitude of print options out there for you. A monochrome stripe, abstract or animal print is a great base for adding colour via your accessories if that’s your bag (pun not even intended). Alternatively, pack a punch with a high impact, bright tropical or abstract print that will definitely stand out from the crowd. Special mention to the classic but always cool polka dot that never goes out of style, and is showing up in a variety of colour ways this season.
PARTY PIECES
Invited as an evening guest or going to a party wedding? I am not sure if that is an official term, but I feel like it’s what Camille Charrière had and it requires a look thats a little bit ready for the club or the red carpet. Don’t hold back on the fun stuff, feathers, shine, embellishment and even cut outs. Cut outs can be classy too, just look at our gallery for proof.
