07 Dec These Have Me Rethinking my Stance on Cowboy Boots
WESTERN STYLING AND KNEE GRAZING BOOTS HAVE NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD
I have not considered a cowboy boot an attractive prospect since around 2005, when lets face it, we were all trying too hard to emulate sienna miller in a denim mini with cowboy boots and probably some kind of low slung / oversized / overly studded belt. Sienna probably looked lovely, I am quite sure I did not. They are never far out of style though and have been back and forth in various iterations since. It seems that my trauma has started to subside a little too, as I have just seen a pair of tall cowboy boots on Zara that has forced me to reconsider my stance. I am normally strictly well below the knee when it comes to boots too, so this whole thing has really taken me by surprise. After some investigation, it seems there is a whole host of these rather lovely, long cowboy boots around. So check them out. And while we are at it, a few other chic knee grazing boots too, just in case you are also rethinking your level of calf coverage. Pair your boots with jeans and a blazer for Celine vibes, or look to classic off-duty Princess Diana. For inspiration also see Emily Ratajkowski, who seems to be the owner of a large and impressively varied knee-high boot collection. Come spring your boots will add edge to any whimsical cotton frock you throw at them.
Aren’t they lovely? They come in a sand colour too.
The sand option. Don’t they look good peeping out from under a midi dress?
Zara is really on it with the cowboy boots. These ones with a more traditional curved top are already sold out in some sizes. Just FYI.
These impressively subtle iterations from Cos are so good. No wonder they are already low in stock.
Mango is also in on the action.
These also come in black, but if you are looking forward to summer already (who isn’t) these might be right up your street.
Seeing as cowboy boots are such a classic, there are many good options on resale sites that are really worth a look.
The metal detailing really adds a little something.
These come in tan suede too, but I am really enjoying the shiny black with contrast white stitching. Be a smartly presented cowboy/girl.
So chic.

RETRO LIGHT:
If you already have a great pair of black boots, consider lightening up and adding a fresh and ever so slightly retro vibe to your look. Yes they require a little more maintenance but they do look chic. They are an especially great prospect when you want to lighten up an otherwise dark outfit or feel a bit more transitional.
These boots are made for walking. Pair with an on trend mini and work your best 60’s vibe in these By Far beauties.
Zara strikes again. This whole outfit is really working.
If you can’t handle full on white, beige is a good option.
Or how about just a touch on a gorgeous two-toned retro treat of a pair?
PIZAZZ:
Don’t leave your feet out of the fun. Colour, sparkle, shine and print options abound. These might not be for every day, but then again why not?
Sparkle is here to stay and don’t be afraid to sprinkle it liberally. The SS22 collections show no sign of slowing down on the shine, so why should we.
A touch of cowboy, a touch of metallic, a touch 80’s. What’s not to love.
Update your classic black boots, with a croc effect and wide shaft. On trend, but make it classic.
On the other side of the coin, take a walk on the wild side with some full on animal print action. A little bit flashy, but somehow also classic, Zebra is big news for SS22. The neutral colours mean they are actually very versatile.
RIDING CLUB:
If you prefer a more minimalist vibe, riding boots are forever a chic and classic option that will go with everything.
Well these look expensive.
So beautifully formed. It’s all about that little heel and subtle buckle detailing.
Classic.
I like her whole vibe.
TRACK SOLE:
The practicality of a track sole in winter cannot be disputed. A pair of sturdy lug sole boots are such a staple for life and a higher leg means extra warmth come colder climes.
Give your lug sole boots a Chelsea twist. So practical and yet so delightful.
How to be wildly practical but cute all at once.
Is anybody else really feeling for this lace up knee boot vibe?
Made for stomping.
Simple and perfect.
Let Ganni update your lug sole footwear game with a touch of Chelsea styling and a nice bit of shine.
